🏢 **About Us:** A high-end custom cabinetry and furniture studio in Grand Rapids, MI, is hiring a Sales Manager. We operate a 2,500 sq. ft. showroom, an in-house design team, and our own manufacturing facility. Lead volume is strong; we need someone to optimize conversion and lead the sales floor.
📐 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Manage a team of 5–8 Design Consultants: set targets, run weekly pipeline reviews, and analyze lost deals.
• Design and implement the compensation/motivation structure: base + commission, plus bonuses for average ticket size and project volume.
• Analyze the sales funnel: track conversion from inquiry → measurement → 3D design → signed contract.
• Identify drop-off points: diagnose why clients hesitate (price, lead time, design, consultant competence) and fix it.
• Train consultants on material presentation, premium hardware (Blum, Hettich), and price objection handling.
• Liaise with Production: verify realistic lead times and ensure on-time delivery for priority orders.
• Personally close high-ticket deals (e.g., full-home custom cabinetry, $50k+ projects).
🎓 **Requirements:**
• 2+ years of sales management in custom furniture, interior design, or high-end building materials.
• Deep understanding of the custom furniture sales cycle: long lead times, trust-building, and design reliance.
• Ability to read basic 3D designs (AutoCAD, PRO100, or similar) to understand project scope.
• Systems thinker: ability to see the entire funnel, not just individual transactions.
