🏢 **About Us:** A major, high-traffic supermarket in downtown Chicago, IL, is hiring a Senior Cashier/Administrator to act as the right hand to the Store Manager. We need someone who can organize seamless front-end operations and handle non-standard situations during peak hours.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Open and close shifts: manage safe keys, verify change funds, and distribute cashiers to zones (express lanes, large carts, self-checkout).
• Monitor cash discipline, manage queue flow, and respond instantly to "call manager" signals.
• Execute end-of-day procedures: generate Z-reports, process safe deposits, prepare cash for armored car pickup, and close shifts in the ERP system.
• Resolve customer conflicts: handle complaints, process returns without receipts, and ensure service standards.
• Train and onboard new cashiers on POS terminals, equipment, and customer service protocols.
• Verify price tag accuracy on the sales floor and ensure cashiers have adequate packing materials.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• 2+ years of cashier experience, preferably in a lead or supervisory role.
• Perfect knowledge of cash handling procedures, fiscal registrars, and payment terminals.
• High stress tolerance, ability to multitask, and tactful communication with demanding customers.
