🪵 **Sawmill / Lumber Production Shift Supervisor**
🏢 **About Us:** A large, full-cycle wood processing enterprise producing a wide range of premium dimensional lumber, siding, and fuel briquettes is hiring a Shift Supervisor for our woodworking shop. Our production facility in Eugene is equipped with modern band sawmills, kiln dryers, and automated sorting lines.
🌲 **Core Duties:**
1. Directly lead the shift crew (sawyers, edger operators, general laborers, forklift drivers) and monitor task execution.
2. Control the sawing process of softwood and hardwood logs, optimizing the yield of finished lumber.
3. Sort and grade lumber (timber, edged/unedged boards, battens) according to ASTM and European grading rules.
4. Organize proper stacking, bundling, and loading of finished products onto freight trucks.
5. Maintain accurate logs of incoming raw material (logs) and finished goods output in the shift reports and ERP system.
6. Monitor the technical condition of woodworking equipment and saw blades; organize timely changes and sharpening.
7. Enforce strict OSHA safety, fire safety, and labor discipline in the shop.
📋 **Requirements:**
1. Vocational or higher technical education (Woodworking Technology or Forestry preferred).
2. 2+ years of experience as a Shop Master or Team Lead at a sawmill or furniture factory.
3. Ability to read blueprints, understand wood defects, and apply grading standards.
4. High organizational and leadership skills, responsibility, punctuality, and quick decision-making.
