🏺 **Glass Plant Chain Conveyor Operator**
🏢 **About Us:** A large, modern glass manufacturing plant specializing in high-quality glass containers for the food and pharmaceutical industries is hiring an experienced Chain Conveyor Operator for our production shop. Our facility is located in Toledo, OH.
⚠️ **Important Note:** The "remote" system tag is solely for viewing shift schedules, online safety training, and accessing tech cards via the corporate portal. The actual work of a conveyor operator is purely physical and requires your daily, on-site presence directly at the conveyor lines in our Toledo plant.
⚙️ **Core Duties:**
• Ensure the uninterrupted transport of hot glass containers from the IS (Individual Section) forming machines to the annealing lehrs.
• Swiftly identify and clear jams, misalignments, breakages, and fallen glass items on the chain conveyor.
• Adjust conveyor speed to match the tempo of the glass forming machines.
• Conduct visual quality control of hot glass bottles/jars, swiftly removing defective products.
• Regularly clean and lubricate moving conveyor parts, monitoring chain tension.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness, safely removing glass cullet (shards) from around the conveyor.
• Promptly notify on-call maintenance and the shift supervisor of any equipment faults.
📋 **Requirements:**
• High school diploma or vocational/technical education (technical focus is a strong advantage).
• 1+ year of experience as a conveyor operator or production line operator at a glass or similar industrial plant.
• Knowledge of transporter mechanics and skills in detecting mechanical belt/chain defects.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, quick reflexes, physical stamina, and ability to work in high-temperature conditions.
