📦 **Metal Structures Packer & Rigger (Galvanizing)**
🏢 **About Us:** A large industrial enterprise specializing in hot-dip galvanizing and the fabrication of complex steel structures is hiring a Packer for our finishing and shipping department. Our production facility is located directly in Gary, IN.
⚠️ **Important Note:** The "remote" tag in our system is strictly for digital application processing, virtual interviews, and viewing shift schedules via our employee portal. The actual work of packing and securing heavy metal structures is purely physical and requires your constant on-site presence on the shop floor in Gary.
🏗️ **Core Duties:**
1. Meticulously clean galvanized parts of zinc drips and scale using hand tools.
2. Kit orders according to client invoices and specifications.
3. Securely wrap finished metal structures in stretch film to protect against moisture and transit damage.
4. Strap and secure packed items using steel or polypropylene bands on wooden pallets.
5. Apply markings, labels, and accompanying stickers to every shipping unit.
6. Move packaged products to the temporary storage or shipping zone using hydraulic pallet jacks.
7. Maintain workplace order, sorting packaging materials and waste.
📋 **Requirements:**
1. High school diploma or vocational/technical education.
2. 6+ months of experience as a packer, general laborer, or warehouse worker in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
3. Physical stamina, neatness, and attention to detail during order kitting.
4. Discipline, teamwork capabilities, and strict adherence to safety instructions.
