A high-end interior renovation studio in Berlin is looking for a meticulous Tile Setter to join our finishing crew. We specialize in luxury bathroom and spa renovations for premium residential clients. Our projects demand absolute precision, from perfectly plumb walls to flawless large-format tile layouts. If you have an eye for detail and understand the chemistry of modern waterproofing systems, this is the role for you.
Your main tasks:
a) Preparing substrates: removing old finishes, applying self-leveling compounds, and building perfectly square and plumb walls using plaster or drywall.
b) Installing comprehensive waterproofing systems (e.g., Schlüter-Kerdi, Laticrete) in wet zones, ensuring all seams, corners, and pipe penetrations are fully sealed and tested.
c) Layout and installation of large-format porcelain, natural stone, and intricate mosaic tiles, ensuring minimal lippage and perfect pattern alignment.
d) Cutting complex shapes using a manual wet saw and angle grinder, including 45-degree miter cuts for external corners.
e) Applying high-quality epoxy or cementitious grouts, followed by thorough cleaning and sealing of the finished surfaces.
Our expectations:
a) At least 3 years of professional experience in high-end residential tiling, specifically in wet areas.
b) Deep knowledge of tile adhesives, waterproofing membranes, and movement joint protocols according to German standards (DIN).
c) Ownership of your own professional tools (laser levels, tile cutters, mixing drills), though we supply heavy machinery and materials.
d) A clean, organized work style; you must treat the client's home with respect and leave the site spotless daily.
e) Ability to read architectural drawings and translate design concepts into physical reality.
Our conditions:
a) A solid gross annual salary of €48,000, plus bonuses for exceptional finish quality.
