An innovative MEP engineering consultancy in Amsterdam is expanding its electrical department. We design the electrical and lighting systems for complex commercial, healthcare, and cultural buildings. We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who can balance technical precision with aesthetic lighting design, ensuring our buildings are both safe and beautifully illuminated.

Key responsibilities:
a) Designing low-voltage power distribution systems, including cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and short-circuit analysis.
b) Creating lighting layouts and performing photometric calculations using Dialux evo to meet lux levels and energy efficiency standards.
c) Designing and specifying main distribution boards (MDBs), sub-distribution boards, and emergency power systems.
d) Selecting appropriate protective devices (MCBs, RCCBs) and switchgear, ensuring coordination and selectivity.
e) Coordinating electrical designs with architectural and structural models in Revit MEP to avoid clashes.

Our ideal candidate:
a) Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
b) Has at least 3 years of experience in building services electrical design.
c) Is highly proficient in AutoCAD and Dialux; Revit MEP experience is a significant advantage.
d) Possesses a deep understanding of the NEN 1010 (Dutch electrical standards) and international IEC standards.
e) Has excellent analytical skills and can communicate complex technical concepts clearly to clients and contractors.
