Join our multidisciplinary engineering firm in Chicago, where we design and deliver some of the most iconic high-rise and commercial structures in the Midwest. We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer specializing in Facade & Glazing Systems to take ownership of our building envelope designs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex curtain walls, structural glazing, and custom atrium roofs.
Your primary focus will be translating architectural visions into buildable, code-compliant realities. You will be responsible for performing structural, thermal, and wind load calculations for stick-built and unitized curtain wall systems. A significant part of your role involves developing detailed connection designs, specifying aluminum extrusions (utilizing systems from Schuco or Reynaers), and generating comprehensive fabrication drawings for our manufacturing partners.
We expect you to bring a solid foundation in structural engineering, ideally with a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. You should have at least 3 years of hands-on experience specifically in facade engineering or building envelope design. Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory, and experience with 3D modeling tools like Rhino or Revit, alongside calculation software like MEPRIS or LogiKal, will set you apart.
In return, we offer a highly competitive salary of $95,000 USD annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and a 401(k) match. While the core design work is based in our downtown Chicago office, you will also conduct regular site visits to oversee installation and resolve field queries, ensuring the final build matches the design intent perfectly.
