As a Highway Construction Superintendent for our civil infrastructure division in Denver, you will be the driving force behind our road building and rehabilitation projects. We are a leading contractor for CDOT and municipal governments, tackling everything from interstate widening to complex intersection reconstructions. This role demands a leader who can manage heavy equipment, coordinate diverse crews, and deliver projects on time.
Your daily operations will involve directing the earthwork, base course, and asphalt paving operations. You will coordinate with grading foremen, asphalt plant managers, and survey crews to ensure the road profile matches the engineered design. Quality control is paramount; you will be overseeing compaction testing, material sampling, and ensuring all work meets strict state specifications. Managing the project budget, tracking daily production, and maintaining meticulous construction logs are also core responsibilities.
We require a candidate with a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, backed by at least 5 years of field experience in heavy highway construction. Deep knowledge of asphalt and aggregate base construction, along with a strong grasp of OSHA and CDOT safety regulations, is essential. You must be an effective communicator who can command respect on the job site.
We offer a robust compensation package of $85,000 USD annually, plus a vehicle allowance and fuel card. You will receive full medical, dental, and vision benefits, along with a generous PTO policy. This is a fully on-site position in the Denver metropolitan area, requiring you to be present at the active construction sites to lead the team from the ground up.
