Our pre-construction department in Amsterdam is the engine room of our project delivery. We are looking for a Construction Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to help us bid on and manage the commercial aspects of large-scale civil and building projects. If you have a sharp analytical mind and a deep understanding of construction costs, this is the role for you.
You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates from conceptual design through to final construction documents. This involves performing quantity take-offs, soliciting and analyzing subcontractor quotes, and assessing material market trends. During the project execution phase, you will manage the change order process, evaluate subcontractor payment applications, and work with the project managers to forecast final costs and identify potential financial risks.
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in a commercial estimating role. You must be highly proficient in estimating software (like CostX or Candy) and advanced Excel. A strong understanding of Dutch construction contracts (like UAV-GC) and a meticulous approach to numerical data are essential.
We offer a salary of €55,000 EUR per year, commensurate with experience, plus a bonus structure tied to project profitability. You will enjoy 25 vacation days, an 8% holiday allowance, and a pension scheme. This is a full-time, on-site position in our modern office in the Zuidas business district, where you will collaborate closely with our design and project management teams.
