Our engineering consultancy in Vancouver is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the HVAC and plumbing designs for high-end residential and commercial projects. This is a fully remote role, allowing you to work from anywhere in British Columbia while collaborating with a dynamic team of architects and engineers.
What you will design:
You will be responsible for calculating heat loads and designing radiant floor heating systems, domestic hot and cold water distribution, and sanitary drainage. You will select and specify high-efficiency equipment, including air-source heat pumps, energy recovery ventilators (ERVs), and condensing boilers. You will create detailed 2D layouts and 3D models, coordinating your designs with the structural and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration.
What you need to bring:
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in building services design. You must be highly proficient in AutoCAD and Revit MEP. A solid understanding of the BC Building Code and ASHRAE standards is essential. You should be passionate about energy efficiency and sustainable design, constantly looking for ways to optimize system performance.
