Building a house from the dirt up requires a mix of brute strength, geometry, and an eye for detail. I’ve been doing exactly that for over nine years, working my way up from a green helper to a lead carpenter managing entire custom home builds.
From 2015 to 2020, I worked for a high-volume framing crew in the Pacific Northwest. We framed up to 30 houses a year. I learned to read complex roof plans, snap chalk lines for shear walls, and operate a crane to set heavy LVL beams. Since 2020, I’ve been with a boutique custom home builder in the Seattle area, where I handle the entire envelope. I frame the walls, install the Zip system sheathing, flash the windows, and hang the exterior siding. I’m equally comfortable building a custom staircase as I am pouring a concrete footer.
I have my own truck loaded with Festool and Milwaukee tools. I’m looking for a long-term role with a quality-focused builder in Seattle. I’m asking for $80,000 USD and I’m ready to work full-time on-site.
