Designing the space between the buildings is just as critical as designing the buildings themselves. I’ve spent the last six years working as a Civil Site Design Engineer in the Netherlands, focusing on master planning, grading, and stormwater management. I started my career in 2017 at a municipal engineering firm, where I learned the intricacies of Dutch water management and how to design drainage systems that can handle extreme rainfall events.
Since 2020, I’ve been working for a multidisciplinary consultancy in Amsterdam, designing the site layouts for large residential neighborhoods and logistics parks. I spend my days in AutoCAD Civil 3D, creating dynamic surface models, calculating cut and fill volumes, and designing road geometries that comply with local CROW guidelines. I’m highly experienced in coordinating the site design with architects and utility companies, ensuring that the stormwater, sewer, and water mains are perfectly integrated into the public realm. I’m looking for a challenging role with an innovative engineering firm in Amsterdam, targeting a salary of €55,000.
