The building envelope is the first line of defense against the elements, and I’ve spent the last seven years making sure those envelopes are watertight, insulated, and visually striking. I started my career in 2016 with a commercial glazing company in Bavaria, where I learned how to handle large glass panels, operate seamers, and navigate the complexities of flashing and sealants at heights.
Since late 2019, I’ve been working as a lead facade installer for a firm that specializes in high-end commercial and retail spaces in Munich. My daily work involves installing stick-built aluminum curtain wall systems and structural glazing. I’m highly skilled in setting up the structural steel sub-framing, ensuring it’s perfectly plumb before the glass goes in. I use vacuum lifters to handle the heavy jumbo-sized IGUs, cut them precisely on-site, and apply the necessary butyl tapes and structural silicones to guarantee a perfect weather seal.
I understand the importance of preventing thermal bridging and ensuring the vapor barrier is continuous. I’m seeking a full-time role with a major envelope contractor in Munich, targeting €55,000. I bring my own hand tools, fall protection gear, and a keen eye for architectural details.
