A massive building materials distribution center in Dallas, TX, is hiring a Material Handler to support our receiving and shipping docks. Our facility runs non-stop: supplier semi-trucks arrive daily, and we simultaneously load orders for contractors and retail customers. You will be the ultimate utility player, covering all physical operations from unloading pallets to post-shift cleanup.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Receiving: Break down pallets, inspect packaging integrity, and move materials to designated zones.
• Order Picking: Assemble orders via RF scanner or paper tickets, stretch-wrapping small items for transit.
• Shipping: Assist in loading customer vehicles and secure freight with ratchet straps.
• Facility Upkeep: Sweep up spilled dry mixes, break down cardboard, and stage empty pallets.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• Ability to handle diverse cargo: tiles cannot be dropped, dry mixes must be kept dry (even in the rain), and small tools cannot get lost.
• High physical stamina (expect to walk up to 10 miles per shift) and strong attention to detail.
• Prior warehouse experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic is mandatory.
