A specialized fabrication facility in Houston, TX, is hiring a TIG Welder for process piping and pressure vessels. We manufacture heat exchangers, food-grade tanks, and chemical process piping. This isn't decorative work—every single weld must pass rigorous hydrostatic testing and ASME code inspections, or the entire spool gets rejected and scrapped.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Pipe Prep: Facing, beveling, and polishing edges to a mirror finish.
• Tack Welding: Using fixtures and jigs to guarantee perfect geometry and prevent warping.
• TIG Welding: Root pass and fill passes in argon; ensuring full penetration on the ID (if accessible).
• Testing Prep: Visual inspection and assisting with liquid penetrant testing (PT).
🎓 **Requirements:**
• 2+ years of TIG welding experience, ideally with pressure-rated code work.
• Deep understanding of stainless steel metallurgy and heat management.
• Willingness to run test coupons before starting a production run to verify machine settings.
