Description

🏢 **About Us:**
A boutique metal fabrication studio in Portland, OR, has spent 5 years crafting designer loft-style furniture for apartments, cafes, and offices. Our products are dining table frames, open shelving, mirror frames, and bar stool bases. We don't run a conveyor belt—every order is a unique interior project. In loft furniture, the metal is often left raw or clear-coated, meaning the client sees every single millimeter of the weld.

📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Reading designer sketches and understanding the geometry of the final piece.
• Prep: Cutting, deburring, and tack-welding HSS (structural tubing).
• Welding: TIG welding thin-wall steel (1.5-3 mm) and occasional stainless/aluminum.
• Cleanup: Mechanical blending and passivation.
• Collaboration: Working alongside the woodshop team who attaches the live-edge or timber tops.

🎓 **Requirements:**
• "Good enough" is not acceptable. If the weld is ugly, the angle is off, or there are heat marks on the stainless, it gets scrapped.
• Ability to weld cleanly so that minimal grinding is required.
• A calm demeanor and pride in a clean, organized workstation.

✨ **What We Offer:**
• Target Salary: $45,000 USD annually.
• Full-time, on-site role in Portland, OR.
• A tight-knit 5-person crew, no corporate bureaucracy, and bonuses for complex custom builds.
