A modern, high-tech greenhouse facility in Salinas, CA, is hiring Production Workers for our hydroponic tomato and cucumber operations. This is a closed-cycle, climate-controlled environment. It's always warm (72-77°F) and humid (60-70%), meaning the plants thrive year-round. For you, this means working in light clothing but dealing with constant ambient moisture—you must be comfortable in this specific microclimate.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Trellising: Securing plant stems to the overhead trellis wire using specialized clips.
• Pruning: Removing suckers and yellowing leaves so the plant directs energy into fruit production.
• Harvesting: Picking cucumbers daily and tomatoes every 2-3 days based on ripeness.
• Sorting & Grading: Separating fruit into Grade A, Grade B, and cull bins.
• Packaging: Packing cucumbers into crates and tomatoes into clamshells/trays.
• Sanitation: Keeping the rows clean to prevent rot and pests.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• High physical stamina (you will be on your feet all shift).
• Gentle handling of plants (careless rushing breaks stems and ruins crops).
• Willingness to work in gloves and adapt to early start times (6:00 AM).
• Prior agriculture/greenhouse experience is a plus, but we provide full training.
