We service equipment for local manufacturers, meaning we see everything from modern VFD-driven CNCs to vintage manual machines (like South Bend or Clausing) where documentation might be lost. The core challenge isn't just swapping bearings—it's diagnosing *why* a spindle is running hot or *why* a carriage has play.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Tear down assemblies: Spindles, gearboxes, carriages, and feed mechanisms.
• Defect analysis: Measuring parts with micrometers and dial indicators; checking for cracks or wear.
• Replacing bearings, seals, Turcite ways, and ball screws.
• Adjusting gibs and backlash: Setting clearances on ways, bearings, and drive mechanisms.
• Geometry alignment: Restoring parallelism, perpendicularity, and spindle true to tenths of a thou.
• Assisting with post-rebuild test runs across various speeds and feeds.

• Vocational training or 3+ years of hands-on machine tool repair experience.
