A manufacturing plant in Atlanta, GA, is hiring an Industrial Millwright to maintain our conveyor belts, rollers, gearboxes, and drive motors on the assembly floor. You need to understand that if a belt starts tracking off or a gearbox starts whining, it's better to shut down for a 15-minute planned fix than to spend 4 hours cleaning up a snapped belt and halting the entire plant.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Preventative Maintenance: Lubricating bearings and gearboxes on a strict PM schedule.
• Component Replacement: Swapping out worn bearings, seals, and roller sleeves.
• Belt Tracking & Tensioning: Aligning conveyor belts and replacing damaged belting sections.
• Drive Inspection: Checking couplings, chain drives, and motor mounts.
• Emergency Troubleshooting: Fixing minor issues on the fly (within safety lockout/tagout rules) without stopping the line.
• Weekend Overhauls: Participating in major PM during scheduled weekend shutdowns.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• Technical education or proven millwright/conveyor experience.
• Diagnostic ears: You can hear a bad bearing, a loose chain, or a vibrating frame before it fails.
• Proactive mindset: You fix things before they break, rather than waiting for a catastrophic failure.
