An electrical infrastructure contractor in Denver, CO, is hiring a Cable Splicer for underground power distribution (480V to 15kV class). We service industrial plants and municipal grids. The work ranges from replacing a faulted section in a trench to pulling and terminating new feeders for commercial developments.
📋 **Core Responsibilities:**
• Trench Prep: Inspecting and cleaning conduit, duct banks, and vaults.
• Cable Pulling: Using winches, rollers, and lubricants to pull heavy MV/LV conductors.
• Splicing & Terminating: Building heat-shrink and epoxy resin joints and terminations.
• Labeling: Tagging all phases and circuits per one-line diagrams.
• Testing: Megger testing insulation resistance before and after energization.
🎓 **Requirements:**
• Electrical trade education and Journeyman/Safety clearance.
• Experience with underground utilities, wet environments, and heavy cable.
• Situational awareness: Hitting someone else's fiber optic line is a catastrophic mistake.
• Willingness to work in rain, snow, and mud during emergency outages.
