Description
Our advanced manufacturing facility in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a meticulous Environmental Compliance Engineer to anchor our sustainability and regulatory efforts. If you are passionate about bridging the gap between heavy industrial operations and strict ecological standards, this role offers a unique blend of field inspections, data analysis, and strategic reporting.
In this position, you will be the primary point of contact for all environmental regulatory matters, ensuring our production lines operate flawlessly within the bounds of EPA and state-level Department of Ecology guidelines. Your day-to-day will involve walking the plant floor to monitor air emission control devices, wastewater treatment protocols, and hazardous material storage areas. You will take ownership of our environmental data management, preparing and submitting critical regulatory reports such as the Tier II hazardous chemical inventory, EPCRA Section 313 (Toxics Release Inventory), and stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP).
Beyond compliance, you will lead our internal waste minimization initiatives. This means calculating emission factors, managing the lifecycle of industrial byproducts, and working directly with the engineering team to optimize our scrubber and filtration systems. You will also coordinate with third-party environmental laboratories to schedule and review soil and groundwater sampling results, ensuring our remediation efforts remain on track.
We are looking for a candidate who holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a closely related field, backed by at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting. A deep understanding of the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA is non-negotiable. Familiarity with ISO 14001 environmental management systems will set you apart.
We offer a competitive annual salary of $85,000 USD, comprehensive health benefits, and a 401(k) match. This is a full-time, on-site role at our Seattle facility, where you will have direct access to our state-of-the-art environmental testing lab and a leadership team that genuinely prioritizes ecological stewardship.
