A respected environmental science and remediation laboratory in Vancouver, British Columbia, is inviting a motivated Junior Environmental Field Technician to join our growing field operations and analytical team. We provide critical soil, groundwater, and air quality testing services for mining, forestry, and urban development projects across Western Canada. If you are a recent graduate with a passion for hands-on fieldwork and precise laboratory analysis, this is the ideal launchpad for your career.

Your day will be split between the great outdoors and our state-of-the-art analytical lab. In the field, you will accompany senior ecologists to remote project sites, assisting with the collection of soil cores, surface water grab samples, and ambient air monitoring data. You will be responsible for calibrating field instruments, maintaining chain-of-custody documentation, and ensuring all samples are properly preserved and transported back to our facility according to strict ISO protocols.

Back in the lab, you will assist in the preparation and physical-chemical analysis of these environmental matrices. This involves operating spectrophotometers, pH meters, and titration equipment, as well as meticulously recording your findings in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). You will also support the data management team by digitizing historical field notes, archiving analytical reports, and preparing the raw data packages required for final regulatory submissions.

We are looking for a candidate who holds a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Biology. While prior field experience is an asset, we are primarily looking for a strong foundational understanding of analytical chemistry, sampling methodologies, and occupational health and safety protocols. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, a keen eye for detail, and a willingness to work in variable weather conditions are essential.

We offer a starting salary of $55,000 CAD per year, comprehensive benefits, and a clear pathway for professional development, including paid training for advanced sampling certifications. This is a full-time position with a hybrid structure, allowing you to balance your time between our Vancouver laboratory and regional field sites, supported by a mentorship program designed to accelerate your growth into a senior consulting role.
