For the past four years, I have operated as an independent Industrial Environmental Consultant, providing comprehensive EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) outsourcing services to a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from commercial food processing plants to precision metalworking machine shops. I specialize in translating dense provincial and federal environmental regulations into actionable, shop-floor protocols that keep facilities compliant and operational.
Professional Background & Operational Focus:
1. 2019–2022: EHS Consultant for a regional food manufacturing conglomerate. Designed and executed a rigorous environmental monitoring program, focusing on industrial effluent and grease trap management. Successfully negotiated and secured complex wastewater discharge permits with the local conservation authority.
2. 2022–Present: Fractional Environmental Manager for a network of CNC machining and fabrication facilities. Conducted exhaustive source-testing and emission inventories for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and particulate matter. Organized the safe staging, labeling, and manifesting of hazardous waste, including spent coolants, heavy metal sludges, and solvent rags.
Core Competencies & Daily Execution:
1. Generating and submitting annual Tier II hazardous chemical inventories and provincial waste generation reports.
2. Auditing wastewater treatment systems, coordinating third-party lab sampling for BOD, TSS, and heavy metals, and adjusting chemical dosing to prevent permit exceedances.
3. Conducting mock regulatory inspections to identify vulnerabilities before the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) arrives.
4. Drafting spill response plans and conducting hands-on training for floor staff on hazardous material handling.
I am highly organized, comfortable walking the factory floor in PPE, and possess the diplomatic communication skills required to liaise with both plant managers and government inspectors. I am looking for a permanent, full-time position in the Windsor/Detroit corridor area, targeting a salary of $72,000 CAD.
