Опис

A rapidly growing municipal utility provider in the Denver metropolitan area is expanding its grid infrastructure and seeking a dedicated Electrical Distribution Engineer to oversee substation operations and network reliability. We are bringing on a new team member to handle the increased load from recent commercial developments in the region.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Conducting routine and emergency inspections of 12kV to 115kV substations, switchgear, and distribution transformers to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitoring SCADA systems for power flow anomalies, load balancing, and voltage regulation across the distribution network.
- Maintaining meticulous technical logs, updating GIS mapping for underground and overhead lines, and managing preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinating switching orders and outage plans with the regional grid operator (RTO) and field crews to minimize customer disruption.

Who we are looking for:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, complemented by at least 2 years of hands-on experience in utility operations or substation maintenance.
- Deep understanding of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and local utility standards.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software and utility billing/management databases.
- A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, especially when dealing with aging infrastructure.

Work environment and conditions:
This is not a desk-only job. You will spend a significant portion of your week in the field, climbing structures or inspecting pad-mounted equipment in Colorado's unpredictable weather, from summer heatwaves to winter blizzards. During peak demand seasons or major storm events, on-call rotations are mandatory.

Compensation and benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 USD annually, paid bi-weekly. Full-time employees receive comprehensive health insurance, a pension match, and generous PTO. The role is based at our Denver headquarters with regular dispatches to field sites.
