A fast-paced retail banking branch in the heart of Chicago's Loop is expanding its consumer lending team. We are looking for a sharp, client-focused Retail Loan Officer & Credit Analyst who can guide everyday individuals through the complex world of personal loans, mortgages, and auto financing. You will be the first point of contact for walk-in clients, helping them understand their options, gathering their financial documentation, and making the initial risk assessment before passing the file to the underwriting team.
Your day-to-day will involve sitting down with clients to review their W-2s, bank statements, and credit bureau reports. You need to have a keen eye for spotting inconsistencies in income declarations and the empathy to explain credit decisions to someone who might have just been denied. Beyond the desk, you will also be responsible for cross-selling our financial products, such as high-yield savings accounts or credit cards, ensuring that every client leaves the branch with a comprehensive financial toolkit.
We expect you to bring at least 2 years of experience in retail banking, mortgage origination, or consumer credit analysis. You must be highly proficient in interpreting FICO scores, debt-to-income ratios, and loan-to-value metrics. If you thrive in a high-volume environment where you might process five loan applications before lunch and handle a complex mortgage dispute in the afternoon, this role is for you. We offer a base salary of $65,000 USD plus a lucrative commission structure for funded loans.
