A dynamic commercial lending institution in Dublin is expanding its SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) division and seeking a sharp SME Credit Underwriter. We provide tailored working capital loans and equipment financing to Irish startups and established SMEs. We need an analyst who can look beyond the standard credit score and truly understand the cash flow dynamics of a growing business.
In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of our loan book. You will analyze the historical financial statements, management accounts, and cash flow projections of prospective borrowers. You will assess the viability of their business models, evaluate the quality of their collateral, and structure loan facilities that protect our capital while supporting the entrepreneur's growth. You will then present your credit memos and risk assessments to the weekly Credit Committee, defending your decisions with hard data.
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Finance, Economics, or Business, with 2+ years of experience in commercial credit underwriting or corporate banking. You must have a strong grasp of financial ratio analysis, industry-specific risks, and Irish corporate law regarding security and charges.
