A rapidly growing software development studio in Montreal is looking for an IT Sector Accounting Lead to manage our financial operations. As a company that relies heavily on a mix of full-time employees, freelance developers, and international B2B contractors, our accounting needs are highly specialized. We need someone who understands the nuances of tech-sector bookkeeping and can keep us compliant across multiple jurisdictions.
You will be responsible for managing the books for our various corporate entities and the individual incorporated contractors (1099/Independent contractors) we work with. Your tasks will include processing bi-weekly payroll, reconciling our multi-currency accounts as we receive wire transfers from US and EU clients, and managing our software subscription expenses. You will also play a key role in tracking our eligible R&D expenditures for the SR&ED tax credit program.
We require a degree in Accounting, with at least 2 years of experience working with IT companies, digital agencies, or tech startups. You must be highly proficient in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar cloud-based ERPs, and comfortable dealing with cross-border invoicing and foreign exchange. If you are a tech-savvy accountant who prefers modern SaaS tools over legacy desktop software, we offer a salary of $70,000 CAD and a 100% remote work arrangement.
