An advanced manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas, is overhauling its workforce compensation strategy and needs a sharp Compensation & Labor Cost Analyst to lead the initiative. With our production lines expanding and shift patterns evolving, the executive team requires granular visibility into labor variances, piece-rate economics, and payroll fund utilization.
In this highly analytical role, you will:
— Design and calculate complex piece-rate pay structures for shop floor operators, ensuring they align with both productivity targets and minimum wage compliance.
— Conduct rigorous variance analysis on the monthly payroll fund, identifying the root causes of overtime spikes and labor inefficiencies.
— Partner with HR and Plant Managers to draft, model, and implement new performance bonus schemes and incentive programs.
— Maintain and update the annual headcount budget, tracking actual hiring against projections.
— Prepare executive-level dashboards that translate raw payroll data into actionable strategic insights.
We expect you to hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or Industrial Engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in labor economics or compensation analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment. You must be an absolute wizard in Excel, capable of building dynamic models that handle thousands of data points. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will frequently need to defend your compensation models to both union representatives and C-suite executives.
We offer a base salary of $75,000 USD, full health benefits, and a hybrid work arrangement that allows you to split your time between our corporate office and the manufacturing floor.
