A rapidly scaling manufacturing and distribution firm in the Greater Chicago area is seeking a proactive, systems-oriented, and empathetic HR Generalist to join our People Operations team. We are looking for a versatile professional who can build and refine foundational HR processes from the ground up, act as a trusted strategic partner to department heads, and cultivate a thriving, inclusive workplace culture. 🔹 Core Responsibilities & Scope of Work:
• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for diverse roles, from entry-level floor staff to senior management, ensuring a seamless and engaging candidate experience.
• Design and execute comprehensive onboarding and orientation programs, guiding new hires through their critical first 90 days and probationary periods.
• Collaborate with finance and department leaders to develop, implement, and refine performance management frameworks, including KPI tracking and compensation grading structures.
• Facilitate employee training initiatives, conduct regular performance reviews, manage exit interviews, and proactively implement retention strategies to minimize turnover.
• Oversee HR administration, maintain accurate personnel records in our HRIS, draft internal policies, and ensure strict compliance with local and federal employment laws.
🔹 Qualifications & Professional Profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an HR Generalist or sole HR practitioner in a dynamic, mid-sized organization.
• Deep understanding of modern talent acquisition strategies, competency-based interviewing, and employee engagement methodologies.
• Solid knowledge of US employment law, HR compliance, and experience drafting localized employee handbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the confidence to make autonomous decisions in a fast-paced environment.
