We are expanding our editorial team and seeking a passionate, meticulous Managing Editor to shepherd books from manuscript approval through to print delivery.

πŸ“‹ **Core Responsibilities:**
β€’ Coordinate a team of freelance translators, developmental editors, copy editors, proofreaders, illustrators, and cover designers.
β€’ Build and enforce detailed production schedules for each title, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines at every stage.
β€’ Conduct final press-ready proofreads of typeset galleys to catch layout errors, widows/orphans, and residual typos.
β€’ Liaise with authors on editorial revisions, resolving textual disputes with diplomacy and constructive feedback.
β€’ Prepare publication metadata, commission ISBN/ISSN codes, compile copyright pages, and write compelling jacket copy.

β€’ Degree in English Literature, Publishing, or a related humanities field.
β€’ 2+ years of experience in a similar managing or production editor role at a trade book publisher.
β€’ Understanding of the book production workflow and basic familiarity with Adobe InDesign for layout review.
β€’ Exceptional self-organization, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple titles simultaneously under tight deadlines.
