Description

🖨️ **Offset Press Operator (Heidelberg Speedmaster)**

🏭 **About Us:** A leading full-service commercial printing company in Chicago, producing high-quality books, magazines, and premium advertising materials. We are hiring a skilled Offset Press Operator to run our state-of-the-art multi-color Heidelberg Speedmaster presses.

⚠️ **Important:** This role requires exclusively on-site, hands-on physical work in the pressroom. Remote operation of printing presses is not technically possible.

⚙️ **Core Responsibilities:**
1) Machine setup: inspect press condition, mount and register printing plates, calibrate feeder and delivery units.
2) Execute print runs of varying complexity according to job specifications and quality standards.
3) In-line quality control: verify color registration via crosshairs, monitor ink density with a densitometer, eliminate slurring or scumming.
4) Adjust ink and fountain solution flow to maintain optimal water-ink balance throughout the run.
5) Perform daily press maintenance: wash up ink trains, clean cylinders, and conduct minor mechanical adjustments.

🎓 **What We Are Looking For:**
1) Technical education in printing technology OR 3+ years of hands-on offset press operating experience.
2) Deep understanding of offset printing mechanics, paper stocks, inks, coatings, and press chemistry.
3) Excellent color vision, sharp attention to detail, and high physical stamina for standing shifts.
4) Team-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively with press assistants.

✨ **What We Offer:**
• Competitive Salary: $58,000 USD annually (paid bi-weekly).
• Full-time, on-site role in our modern Chicago pressroom.
• Rotating shift schedule with premium pay for nights and weekends.
• Full benefits package, safety equipment provided, and opportunities for skill advancement.
