Description
The set of a film or television show is a chaotic ecosystem, and the Assistant Director team is the engine that keeps it running on time. I have spent the last five years working in the Los Angeles film industry, progressing from a set PA to a 2nd Assistant Director, specializing in both scripted narrative and unscripted television.
My early career (Mid-2018 through 2020) was spent working on indie features and commercial shoots. I learned the hard way how to lock down a set, manage background extras, and ensure that the camera department had exactly what they needed without interrupting the actors' process. I became highly proficient in breaking down scripts, generating daily call sheets, and managing the intricate logistics of moving a crew from one location to another.
Since Fall 2021, I have been working as a 2nd AD on larger television productions. My daily routine involves coordinating directly with the casting agencies to finalize the actor schedules, managing the set medics and safety officers, and ensuring strict adherence to SAG-AFTRA and Teamsters union rules regarding meal penalties and turnaround times. At the end of a grueling 14-hour day, I compile the daily production reports for the UPM and executive producers.
I hold a valid IATSE Local 600 card and possess an encyclopedic knowledge of set protocols. I am seeking a stable, full-time 2nd AD or Set Coordinator position with a major studio or production company in Los Angeles, targeting $70,000 USD annually. I am calm under pressure, highly organized, and ready to manage the complex realities of modern film production.
