Designing a live experience is about orchestrating space, light, sound, and human emotion into a single, unforgettable moment. For the past eight years, I have been working as a Creative Director and Stage Designer in the Netherlands, focusing on large-scale urban festivals, opening ceremonies, and immersive brand installations.
1) Between 09.2015 and 05.2019, I worked as a Scenographer for a prominent Amsterdam-based design studio. I was responsible for drafting the initial spatial concepts for public art installations and drafting the technical ground plans. I worked closely with structural engineers to ensure our massive steel and timber structures were safe, and I coordinated with lighting designers to integrate complex projection mapping onto irregular surfaces.
2) Since late 2019, I have been operating as a Freelance Creative Director for major cultural events and municipal festivals across Europe. I lead the entire creative process, from writing the initial artistic pitch to directing the technical rehearsals on-site. I manage large teams of carpenters, riggers, and AV technicians, ensuring that the final build matches the 3D renderings perfectly. I am highly experienced in dealing with local permitting offices, crowd flow dynamics, and emergency safety protocols.
I possess a deep understanding of modern stagecraft, including automated rigging, LED integration, and spatial audio. I am looking for a permanent Creative Director role with a top-tier experiential design agency in Amsterdam. I expect a salary of €65,000 and am fully prepared for the intense travel and on-site presence required during the build and execution phases of major projects.
