A specialized service center for a major defense contractor in San Antonio is hiring an EW Systems Technical Support & Repair Engineer. You will be the frontline expert helping military users troubleshoot their electronic warfare equipment and bringing broken units back to life in our repair depot.
# Your day-to-day duties:
# Providing rapid, clear, and patient technical consultation to military end-users regarding the deployment, configuration, and operational limits of our trench and mobile EW systems.
# Receiving, logging, and triaging RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) requests, gathering detailed failure symptoms from the field via phone or secure chat.
# Performing initial bench diagnostics on returned units, identifying failed RF power stages, burnt coaxial connectors, or corrupted firmware on control boards.
# Collaborating closely with the R&D and production teams to feed field failure data back into the design loop, helping to improve future hardware revisions.
# Maintaining the service database, updating repair manuals, and creating quick-reference troubleshooting guides for the end-users.
# Who we want on our team:
# At least 1 year of experience in technical support, hardware repair, or a strong background as an advanced radio amateur/hobbyist with deep RF knowledge.
# A basic understanding of radio physics, microwave components, and the architecture of modern transceiver systems.
# Practical skills with a multimeter, soldering iron, and basic RF test equipment like power meters and spectrum analyzers.
# Excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
# A strong desire to learn and grow within the cutting-edge field of electronic defense technologies.
We offer a stable salary of $60,000 USD per year, with comprehensive health benefits and paid time off. This is a full-time, on-site position at our repair and support facility in San Antonio, TX. We provide all diagnostic tools, soldering equipment, and continuous training on our latest EW product lines.
