Описание

A cutting-edge electronic warfare research lab in Ottawa is seeking an RF Antenna Design Engineer to develop the directional and omnidirectional radiating elements for our next-generation jamming suites. You will be designing the physical interface between our RF amplifiers and the electromagnetic spectrum.

>> Design & Simulation:
>> Designing, modeling, and optimizing complex antenna arrays, including helical, log-periodic, and phased array structures for EW applications.
>> Running full-wave electromagnetic simulations in ANSYS HFSS and CST Studio Suite to predict radiation patterns, gain, VSWR, and side-lobe levels.
>> Practical tuning and matching of antenna feed networks to minimize return loss and maximize power transfer from the PA (Power Amplifier).

>> Testing & Validation:
>> Conducting empirical measurements in our anechoic chamber and on the outdoor test range using Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) and spectrum analyzers.
>> Iterating designs based on test data to ensure robust performance across wide frequency bands and extreme environmental conditions.
>> Generating comprehensive mechanical and electrical documentation for the manufacturing team.

>> Requirements:
>> Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of microwave engineering, electromagnetics, and antenna theory.
>> At least 2 years of hands-on experience designing and testing RF antennas using HFSS or CST.
>> Proficiency with RF test equipment, including VNAs, power meters, and signal generators.
>> A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Applied Physics.

We offer $95,000 CAD per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work model, allowing you to perform your EM simulations and documentation remotely, while spending 2-3 days a week in our Ottawa RF lab and anechoic chamber.
