Description
A high-volume UAV manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama, is hiring an Aerospace Cable Harness Assembler to build the internal wiring networks for our tactical drones. In the aerospace industry, a poorly routed or improperly crimped wire can lead to catastrophic in-flight failures. We need a technician who treats every wire run with the utmost precision and respect for IPC standards.
* Fabricating, labeling, and assembling complex internal wiring harnesses and avionics interconnects based on detailed engineering drawings.
* Cutting, stripping, tinning, and crimping wires using specialized tooling for JST, Molex, XT60, and military-spec MIL-DTL-38999 connectors.
* Performing high-quality soldering of fine-pitch connectors and power leads, applying heat-shrink tubing, conformal coatings, and potting compounds for environmental protection.
* Routing and bundling cable harnesses inside the carbon fiber airframes, ensuring proper strain relief and preventing chafing against sharp composite edges during high-G maneuvers.
* Conducting 100% continuity, insulation resistance, and short-circuit testing on every finished harness using automated wire test boards and digital multimeters.
We require at least 1 year of experience in cable harness assembly, electronics manufacturing, or a related field. You must have excellent fine motor skills, the ability to read schematic diagrams, and a deep understanding of IPC-A-620 wire harness standards. Familiarity with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols is essential.
We offer a starting wage equivalent to $48,000 USD annually, with shift differentials and overtime opportunities. This is a full-time, on-site role at our climate-controlled, ESD-safe assembly floor in Huntsville. We provide all crimping tools, soldering stations, and personal protective equipment.
