When a drone comes back from the field with a fried flight controller or a dead ESC channel, I am the person who figures out why it failed and brings it back to life. I specialize in component-level diagnostics and repair of unmanned aerial systems.
~ Complex fault isolation on flight controllers, 4-in-1 ESCs, video transmitters, and power distribution boards.
~ Micro-soldering of SMD components down to 0402 sizes, replacing blown MOSFETs, USB connectors, and barometric sensors.
~ Utilizing laboratory power supplies with current limiting, digital oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging cameras to pinpoint short circuits in seconds.
~ Recovering corrupted firmware and restoring bootloader functionality on bricked flight stacks.
Over the last four years, working as a service technician for consumer and tactical electronics, I have successfully resurrected over 180 ESCs and flight controllers that were deemed dead on arrival. A major breakthrough in my workflow was integrating a portable thermal camera into my diagnostic routine; this allows me to identify power rail shorts in under 5 minutes without needing to power up the board and risk further damage. I also developed a reliable method for splicing and shielding damaged coaxial antenna cables for EW and video systems.
I hold a diploma in Electronic Devices and a certification in IPC-A-610 soldering standards. I have my own fully equipped home lab, including a hot-air rework station and a digital microscope, but I am eager to join a dedicated production or repair facility. I am targeting a full-time role in Huntsville, AL, with a salary expectation of $62,000 USD.
