Taking a drone from a napkin sketch to a serial production run of 100+ units requires more than just engineering skills; it requires relentless project management and cross-functional leadership. I am a UAV Project Manager who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, electronics, and software integration.
▶ Coordinating multidisciplinary teams (CAD designers, PCB layout engineers, firmware developers, and assembly technicians) to ensure milestones are met without compromising quality.
▶ Translating client requirements into detailed Technical Specifications (TS), managing development phases via Gantt charts, and negotiating quality criteria with external suppliers.
▶ Organizing integration and flight tests, making critical decisions on technical compromises, and managing RMA/repair loops for fielded units.
▶ Preparing the final Design Package for serial manufacturing and personally overseeing the acceptance of the first production batch.
I have successfully led a team of 6 to 12 engineers, guiding a complex prototype through the valley of death and into serial production. My toolkit includes JIRA and Redmine for task tracking, Confluence for documentation, and deep familiarity with SolidWorks, Altium Designer, and Git. I am highly experienced in analyzing MavLink telemetry data to diagnose integration issues and have a proven track record of managing contract manufacturers and line QC.
I am looking for a project with a clear roadmap and a dedicated team. I am ready to work in a hybrid or on-site capacity in San Diego, CA, and can start within 2 to 4 weeks. Target compensation is $95,000 USD.
