Описание

Integrating a payload into a UAV is about balancing mass, managing vibrations, and ensuring seamless data flow between the sensor and the flight controller. I am a Payload Integration Engineer who designs the mechanical and electronic interfaces that allow drones to see, measure, and interact with the world.

• Designing and integrating EO/IR gimbals, LiDAR scanners, multispectral cameras, and cargo drop mechanisms onto various UAV airframes.
• Engineering 2-axis and 3-axis gimbal suspensions, sizing brushless stabilization motors, and selecting high-resolution optical encoders for precise pointing accuracy.
• Writing Technical Specifications for payload control boards and defining data protocols (PWM, SBUS, MAVLink) between the sensor and the autopilot.
• Modeling custom quick-release adapters, vibration-dampening mounts, and aerodynamic shrouds in SolidWorks.
• Calculating the shifting Center of Gravity (CG) and ensuring the aircraft remains statically stable when fully loaded.

During my 3.5 years at an aviation design bureau, I successfully integrated a thermal imaging camera with a built-in laser rangefinder onto a fixed-wing reconnaissance drone, ensuring the video feed remained perfectly stable even during high-vibration cruise phases. I also designed a universal dovetail quick-release adapter with an integrated power/data connector, allowing field operators to swap payloads in under 10 seconds without tools. I have extensive field-test experience, having calibrated optical axes and tested drop mechanisms in real-world conditions.

I hold a Master's degree in Aviation Systems Design and a practical certification in Gimbal Integration. I possess a high-end workstation for complex 3D assembly analysis and fluent technical English for reading international sensor datasheets. I am seeking a remote-friendly engineering role in Ottawa, ON, targeting $85,000 CAD.
