My journey into robotics and autonomous systems began during my Master's studies in Software Engineering, where I became obsessed with the challenge of making machines navigate complex, GPS-denied environments. Over the past three years, I have been working as a ROS Developer, focusing on the core flight software and perception stacks for tactical unmanned aerial vehicles.
Between 2020 and early 2022, I worked at a robotics startup where I built the indoor navigation module for a quadcopter. I integrated Intel RealSense depth cameras and LiDAR sensors, writing custom C++ nodes in ROS2 to handle obstacle avoidance and local path planning. I spent countless hours tuning the SLAM algorithms (RTAB-Map and ORB-SLAM) to ensure the drone could map a warehouse and localize itself without relying on satellite signals.
Since March 2022, I have been developing advanced trajectory planning algorithms for fixed-wing UAVs operating in dense forestry. My work involves simulating the flight dynamics in Gazebo and AirSim before deploying the code to PX4-based flight controllers via MAVROS. I also regularly participate in field tests, analyzing telemetry logs to refine the computer vision pipelines.
I hold a Master's degree in Software Engineering and Robotics, and I recently completed an advanced certification in Autonomous Navigation for Flying Robots. I am looking for a full-time, on-site role in Seattle, WA, where I can bring my expertise in C++, Python, and ROS2 to a team building next-generation autonomous defense systems. Target salary: $95,000 USD.
