Description

In aerospace manufacturing, a poorly optimized toolpath can cost thousands of dollars in scrapped titanium. I am a CNC Setup Operator and Programmer who specializes in squeezing maximum efficiency and precision out of 3-axis and 4-axis machining centers.

From 2020 to early 2023, I worked as a 4th-class CNC operator at a precision engineering plant. I was responsible for setting up, indicating, and running Haas and DMG Mori mills with Fanuc controls. My daily tasks involved machining complex structural components and camera mount brackets for UAV airframes from aerospace-grade aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium. I am highly proficient in writing and editing G-code and M-code directly at the controller, as well as performing in-process inspections using digital micrometers and thread gauges to hold 0.01 mm tolerances.

One of my key achievements was independently setting up and launching a production run of 200 complex aluminum gimbal brackets. By optimizing the feed rates and closely monitoring the wear on the carbide inserts, I managed to reduce the scrap rate from 2% down to 0.3%. I also hold a certificate in the setup and operation of 3-axis Haas milling centers.

I am technically minded, highly responsible for the equipment under my care, and possess the ability to read complex engineering drawings with strict surface finish requirements. I am fully prepared to work rotating shifts, including nights, to meet production deadlines. I am seeking a full-time, on-site role in Huntsville, AL, targeting $62,000 USD.
