In the world of high-power RF jamming, a poorly terminated connector or a kinked feeder line can destroy a transmitter in seconds. I am a specialized RF Antenna and Feeder Installer with four years of experience building and maintaining the critical infrastructure for electronic warfare and tactical communications systems.
Between 2018 and 2022, I worked for a telecommunications and defense contracting firm. My daily tasks involved climbing towers and assembling masts to install directional and omnidirectional antenna arrays. I am highly experienced in handling thick, low-loss coaxial cables (1/2" and 7/8" feeders), stripping, preparing, and terminating them with N-type, DIN 7/16, and TNC connectors. I routinely use Anritsu Site Masters and RigExpert analyzers to measure VSWR and return loss, ensuring that the RF energy is radiating into the air, not reflecting back into the amplifier.
A significant challenge I overcame was repairing feeder lines on 12 different mobile EW units that had been damaged by shrapnel and harsh weather. I developed a rigorous weatherproofing protocol using butyl rubber tape and heat-shrink tubing with adhesive lining, which completely eliminated moisture ingress and reduced system downtime by 30%. I also installed lightning protection systems and proper RF grounding for all antenna masts.
I hold a diploma in Electrical Installations and possess a certification for working at heights. I am physically fit, meticulous about torque specifications on RF connectors, and own my own professional climbing gear. I am looking for a full-time, on-site role with a defense contractor in San Diego, CA, targeting $68,000 USD.
