The heart of any long-endurance UAV is its battery pack, and a poorly welded cell or an unbalanced BMS will result in a mid-air fire. I am a specialized Battery Pack Assembler with three years of experience building high-discharge lithium batteries for tactical drones and electronic warfare systems.
Between 2019 and late 2022, I worked in the power systems department of a UAV manufacturing facility. I designed and assembled custom battery packs (ranging from 4S to 12S configurations) using high-current 18650 and 21700 cells from Samsung, Molicel, and Sony. I operated semi-automatic spot welders, carefully calibrating the pulse current and duration to ensure perfect nickel strip adhesion without damaging the cell internals.
