A beloved, authentic Italian trattoria in the lively River North neighborhood of Chicago is seeking a passionate Front of House Manager. Our restaurant is a tribute to regional Italian cuisine, featuring house-made pastas and an extensive list of imported wines. We need a leader who embodies the Italian spirit of hospitality—generous, warm, and deeply committed to the guest experience.
+ Orchestrating the dining room floor, managing reservations, and ensuring a seamless flow of service from the host stand to the kitchen.
+ Training the waitstaff on the nuances of our menu, the art of Italian wine pairing, and the importance of genuine, family-style guest interaction.
+ Handling table touches, gathering feedback, and resolving any service issues with grace and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
+ Overseeing the POS system, managing daily sales reports, and controlling FOH labor costs and supply orders.
+ Fostering a positive, energetic team culture, conducting pre-shift meetings, and motivating the staff to exceed their sales and service goals.
You must have at least 2 years of management experience in an upscale casual or fine dining restaurant, preferably with an Italian or Mediterranean concept. A deep appreciation for Italian food and wine culture is essential, as is proficiency with Resy or OpenTable and Aloha POS. We need a natural leader who can command respect while remaining approachable and hands-on.
