As a Residential Maintenance Plumber for a large property management group in the Greater Boston area, your day is never the same. You are the first responder for our multi-family residential buildings, ensuring that the plumbing and heating systems keep our tenants comfortable and safe.
Your daily routine involves conducting preventative maintenance rounds in the basements and mechanical rooms, checking boiler pressures, and inspecting domestic water lines. When a tenant calls about a leaky faucet, a clogged drain, or a running toilet, you are dispatched to their unit to diagnose and fix the issue promptly. You will also handle emergency calls for burst pipes or heating failures, quickly isolating the problem and executing permanent repairs using copper, PEX, and PVC. During the autumn, you will lead the seasonal boiler start-ups, flushing the lines and balancing the radiators.
We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in residential or commercial building maintenance. You must have a solid understanding of modern plumbing fixtures, water heaters, and heating systems. A valid plumbing license or a relevant trade certification is highly preferred. You should be comfortable interacting politely with tenants, as you are often the face of our maintenance team.
We offer a stable annual salary of $65,000, plus overtime pay for emergency call-outs. You will be provided with a fully stocked company van, all necessary power tools, and a uniform. This is a strictly on-site role requiring your physical presence at our various properties across Boston, working a standard 40-hour week with a rotating on-call schedule.
