We are a custom home building company in Portland, and we are looking for a skilled Residential Framing Carpenter to join our crew. We build high-performance, energy-efficient wood-frame homes, and we need someone who takes pride in straight walls, square corners, and structurally sound roofs.
* Layout and assembly of exterior walls, interior partitions, and floor systems using dimensional lumber and engineered wood products.
* Constructing complex roof trusses and rafters, ensuring proper pitch, overhangs, and structural integrity.
* Sheathing the structure with OSB or plywood, applying house wrap, and installing flashing to create a tight building envelope.
* Reading and interpreting architectural blueprints, understanding load paths, and ensuring all framing meets the International Residential Code (IRC).
* Operating a variety of power tools, including miter saws, nail guns, and circular saws, with precision and safety.
You need at least 3 years of experience in residential framing. You must have a strong understanding of wood construction principles, moisture management, and energy-efficient building techniques. Physical stamina, reliability, and a keen eye for detail are non-negotiable. You should be comfortable working outdoors in the Pacific Northwest weather.
We offer a salary of $65,000 USD per year, plus overtime opportunities. You will be provided with a company truck, all necessary power tools, and a comprehensive benefits package. This is a fully on-site role at our active building lots across the Portland metropolitan area.
