Description
Our industrial installation division in Detroit is looking for an experienced Industrial Machinery Rigger / Millwright to help manufacturers set up their new production lines. We move, position, and install everything from massive CNC machining centers to complex conveyor systems and industrial compressors.
> Heavy Lifting & Placement: You will use gantry cranes, forklifts, and air skates to move multi-ton machinery into position within the plant.
> Precision Alignment: Once the machine is in place, you will use precision levels, laser trackers, and dial indicators to align the equipment to exact tolerances.
> Anchoring & Grouting: You will drill into the concrete, set epoxy anchors, and pump non-shrink grout under the baseplates to ensure the machine is rock-solid.
> Mechanical Assembly: You will assemble the mechanical components of the machinery, install conveyors, and connect pneumatic and hydraulic lines as required.
> Safety First: You will rig loads safely, ensuring all slings, shackles, and hoists are inspected and used correctly according to OSHA standards.
We need a candidate with at least 2 years of experience in industrial rigging or millwright work. You must be able to read mechanical assembly drawings and understand load dynamics. Physical strength, stamina, and a meticulous approach to safety are essential. Experience with welding or cutting is a strong advantage.
We offer a salary of $68,000 USD per year, plus per diem for travel and overtime pay. You will receive a comprehensive benefits package and all necessary rigging gear and hand tools. This is a fully on-site position, working at various manufacturing facilities across the Detroit metropolitan area.
