A defense electronics enterprise in Munich is seeking an RF PCB Design Engineer to layout the complex, multi-layer printed circuit boards that power our electronic warfare generators. You will be designing the physical heart of our jamming systems, ensuring that high-frequency signals are routed cleanly and efficiently.
+ Your core responsibilities:
+ Designing schematic capture and layout for multi-layer RF/microwave PCBs using Altium Designer or KiCad, specifically for high-power jamming and signal generation modules.
+ Selecting and integrating modern RF component libraries, including power amplifiers, voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), phase shifters, and RF filters.
+ Routing high-frequency transmission lines (microstrip, stripline, coplanar waveguide) with strict impedance control, minimizing insertion loss and parasitic radiation.
+ Simulating RF performance and thermal dissipation of the PCB layouts before sending them to the fab house, ensuring reliability under high continuous power.
+ Generating Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings for manufacturing, and providing direct support to the PCB fab and PCBA assembly houses during production.
+ What you need to bring:
+ At least 2 years of dedicated experience designing RF/microwave PCBs, with a portfolio demonstrating complex, high-frequency layouts.
+ Deep expertise in Altium Designer or KiCad, including a strong understanding of RF transmission line theory and impedance matching techniques.
+ A solid grasp of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) principles and techniques for shielding and filtering sensitive analog/digital signals.
+ Hands-on experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers) to debug and tune prototype boards.
+ A degree in Electrical Engineering, Radio Engineering, or a related field.
We offer a gross annual salary of €70,000 EUR, plus a generous bonus structure for successful product launches. This is a full-time, on-site role at our secure design lab in Munich. You will have access to state-of-the-art EDA software, a fully equipped soldering and rework station, and a comprehensive RF measurement lab.
