Description
A high-precision defense manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario, is hiring a CNC Setup Operator & Programmer to run our 3-axis and 4-axis milling and turning centers. We produce critical, tight-tolerance components for unmanned systems, and we need someone who can take a raw block of metal and turn it into a flight-ready part with minimal supervision.
# Your responsibilities:
# Setting up, indicating, and running Haas and Fanuc controlled 3-axis vertical mills and 4-axis mill-turn centers.
# Writing and editing G-code and M-code programs directly at the machine control, optimizing toolpaths for cycle time and surface finish.
# Designing and fabricating custom soft jaws, fixtures, and workholding solutions for complex, irregularly shaped parts.
# Managing tool life, selecting the correct carbide inserts and end mills, and adjusting offsets to compensate for tool wear.
# Performing first-article and in-process inspections using digital micrometers, pin gauges, and height masters to ensure 100% compliance with GD&T callouts.
# What you bring to the bench:
# At least 3 years of experience as a CNC setup operator/programmer in a job-shop or aerospace manufacturing environment.
# The ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, understanding true position, concentricity, and surface finish requirements.
# Proficiency in G/M code programming at the control; CAM experience (Mastercam) is a strong asset.
# Experience machining exotic alloys, including titanium and Inconel.
We offer $68,000 CAD per year, with shift premiums and a strong overtime culture. This is a full-time, on-site role in our climate-controlled Windsor facility. We provide all precision measuring equipment, tooling, and a clean, safe work environment.
